Dr. Allan Bloom was educated at Boston University (BA), UNC-Chapel Hill (MSW), NC State University (PhD), and the UNC-Duke Psychoanalytic Institute. He has evaluated and treated adults and children full-time since 1976. His practice is limited to evaluations, psychotherapy and the supervision of other clinicians. He also served for ten years as the consulting psychologist to the Diagnostic Teaching Clinic at NC State University. Professional memberships include the Society for Personality Assessment, the NC Psychological Association, the NC Psychoanalytic Society, and the Association for Child Psychoanalysis. He is a licensed psychologist in North Carolina and has published numerous articles in professional journals in the field of adult mental health and child treatment. Dr. Bloom is married with two children.
